Basic Sudoku rules

A standard Sudoku grid is 9×9 cells, divided into nine 3×3 boxes.

You must fill every empty cell with a digit from 1 to 9.

Each digit may appear only once in every row, column and 3×3 box.

The puzzle is complete when the whole grid is filled correctly — no guessing is required.

Sudoku rules — no ads, no noise

Sudoked.com explains Sudoku rules on a page with no ads, no banners and no pop-ups. Read the rules at your own pace, then jump straight into a game on the home page.

The built-in hint system uses the same strategies: it will point out the next logical step instead of just giving you the answer. The more you practice, the faster you recognize these patterns.
